December 2011

We're over the moon to join a fantastic creative studio in London called the Papered Parlour in the New Year. This will be the new Saloukee Jewellery HQ and we're excited about the prospect of being amongst some very talented designers day to day.

2011 brought some great achievements for Saloukee's creative director Sarah, including the launch of our new online shop on Boticca. She's been writing all about it and more in her blog, check it out here to find out more.

November 2011

Sarah Kelly , creative director of Saloukee is over the moon to now have her first book OFFICIALLY PUBLISHED. Paper Jewellery is now available in all good high street book stores and to order on our online shop.

We're so excited about our latest brilliantly British stockist, is the National Portrait Gallery who will be selling both our Solitary Bracelets and our Obverse Collars in their shop in time for Christmas.

October 2011

Saloukee jewellery is seen in October issue of Italian jewellery magazine Preziosa on a feature all about laser cut jewellery, written by jewellery designer Lucia Venino.

We're happy to announce a new UK stockist of Saloukee jewellery Yours Sustainably who sell 'gifts that matter' and donate 10% of their profits every month to charity.

September 2011

Saloukee is exhibiting in London Olympia at Top Drawer, 11th – 13th September. This event is the UK's leading event for design-led gifts and lifestyle accessories and we are excited to be launching a new pendant, which will soon be available on our online shop.

August 2011

Saloukee's owner and designer, Sarah Kelly will be teaching a 5 day course at West Dean College on sculptural art jewellery in February 2012. Places are very limited, so book now before it's too late!

July 2011

This month sees the official launch of our new website. It's been many, many months in the making but we feel it's cleaner, fresher, and more beautiful and informative than before! Do check it out for many new additional pages including collections, jewellery care, exhibitions as well as updates to our online shop.

Saloukee is selected to feature on jewellery community website Ganoskin in an article called "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder". This exhibition of contemporary jewellery design from around the world, explores the concept of jewellery as wearable art.

June 2011

This month brings exciting movements with the progress of Sarah's 'Design & Make' Paper Jewellery book. It's on the way to the printers for colour proofs. To take a sneak peek at the cover or to pre order your very own copy, check it out online at Waterstones.com

If you are an art teacher living within the UK, this is your chance to learn a range of techniques and gain expert tuition from Sarah to take with you back to the classroom. She is undertaking a number of workshops for the UK's largest crafts supplier Specialist Crafts later in the year in venues around the country. Places are limited though, so book here now to avoid disappointment.

May 2011

This month sees Sarah undertaking a number of two day workshops with 7-11 year olds inspiring creativity and practical, hands on learning. She was invited to contribute to a very exciting 'START' education project funded by the Prince's Foundation for Children and the Arts to coincide with their visit to see the work of renown jeweller/sculpture Nora Fok's at Ruthin Craft Centre, Wales.

Saloukee is excited to be one of 25 designers showcasing one piece of work at an exhibition called First Anniversary: Paper at Unit Twelve the contemporary space and workshop of textile artist Jennifer Collier. Between 5th May - 30th June you can see the countries most exciting makers working with paper, from very established and well loved artists, to enticing up and coming talents.

April 2011

Sarah is now an official associate of Sketch Creative Consultancy which was set up to give students, graduates, establishing artists and designers the essential knowledge needed to start their creative career at a professional and commercial level. Through Sketch, Sarah is now available for seminars, courses, lecturing and one to one mentoring.

Saloukee was matched with tableware and jewellery designer Hannah Stockham as part of the Co-Laboratory project presented by Make:Space. The outcome of the 8 week collaborative was a large light installation and small pendant light, a first for both Hannah and Sarah.

March 2011

After being interviewed earlier in 2010, Sarah and her work are contributing to a book written by fashion designer Jay McCauley Bowstead. The book 'A guide to Preparing your Portfolio' is due to be Published by A & C Black Publishers at the end of March, 2011.

Saloukee is interviewed by the editor of Asia's Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Review, Hong Kong for a feature story about the paper fashion jewellery. Article to be published by UBM Asia Ltd in early June.

Febuary 2011

Saloukee has been selected to be part of a new project set up to 'for the promotion of design-led skills'. The not-for-profit organisation Make: Space has set up an invitation only project called 'Co-laboratory' to encourage fellow design professionals to learn from each other through direct interaction. The culmination of the project will be a showcase exhibition at KM Studios, Shoreditch, 15-25th April 2011.

Saloukee has been asked to be part of a book on 'paper art', to be published by a leading international publishing house in Hong Kong, in early 2012.

January 2011

8 pieces of Saloukee's jewellery has been selected by a panel of judges to appear in an exhibition 'fold/unfold' to be presented at the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles gallery from March 14th to April 18th, 2011.

December 2010

Chapter five of the 'Design and Make' book on 'paper jewellery' is in its final stages, an exciting collaborative project between product designer Soner Ozenc and Sarah Kelly herself. This, as with the other great projects will unveil itself when the book is published in late 2011.

Saloukee's portfolio of work can now be viewed in a free downloadable iPhone & iPad app about paper art and its creative use in architecture, design, art, animation, fashion, curated by Parisian project 'Partfaliaz'.

November 2010

Chapter four of the 'Design and Make' book on 'paper jewellery' has been successfully photographed. This chapter taps into the skill and knowledge of creative practioner, Paula Tew.

Saloukee has been honoured to have be granted some funding by the David Canter Memorial fund 2010 towards some new equipment for the studio. This year, submissions were taken in the catergory of 'paper, calligraphy and letterwriting' and we're so happy to have made the mark!

October 2010

Saloukee has been working hard behind the scenes to create a new online shop and has launched its new paper and polish service so that customers can re-love their pre loved!

Saloukee is credited 'designer of the month' by creative consultant and founder of textiles brand Oromono, Kirsty Anne Powell.

Saloukee is asked to enter into the Global Fashion Awards 2010, under the category of 'Most Influential Designer - Accessories'. The event is hosted by WGSN, the world's leading creative intelligence service and sister company of Retailer Jeweller.

August 2010

Saloukee receives some great recognition in the US, after being featured in The Fashion Journal's Summer 2010 issue.

Chapter two of the 'Design and Make' book on 'paper jewellery' has been successfully photographed and completed. This chapter features the beautiful work of lecturer and designer, Sally Collins.

Saloukee's founder Sarah has managed to complete the first chapter of her book on 'paper jewellery' featuring a collaborative project with workshop tutor and designer, Jessica Mason.
